01 / Why email

Your next sale is probably already on your list.

Email is still the best return in marketing, and most businesses leave a lot of it unclaimed. Here’s what the research says.

$36 back1

on average, for every $1 a business spends on email.

The fix: a Weekly Newsletter that keeps you in front of the people who already know you.
7 in 10 carts abandoned2

Most online shoppers leave before they check out.

The fix: Sales Sequences that follow up while the buyer still wants it.
5% of sends, 41% of revenue3

Automated emails are a small slice of what brands send and bring in a big share of what email earns.

The fix: an Educational Email Course and sequences that run on their own.

02 / Who it’s for

If it exists, I can help you sell it.

I’ve written for automotive for fourteen years, but that doesn’t mean I’m stuck there. I’ve also written for software, cell phone brands, consumer electronics, and more. Good writers are flexible. Learn the customer, then say it plainly.

03 / What we write

Four ways to put your list and your feed to work.

Most businesses know they should be emailing and posting. Few have the hours to do it well every week. Pick the piece you’re missing, or stack them.

Email · one-time build

Educational Email Course

A short email course that teaches new subscribers how to solve one problem your product solves. It gives people a concrete reason to join your list, and it does the selling by teaching.

  • 5, 7, or 10 emails, written and ready to load
  • Opt-in page copy with a specific promise
  • Subject lines and preview text for every email

Good for: turning ad, social, and site traffic into subscribers.

Email · monthly

Weekly Newsletter

One email a week that keeps you in front of your list. Useful, specific, and written the way you talk, so people keep opening it and remember you when they’re ready to buy.

  • Four issues a month
  • Broadcast or evergreen, whichever fits your business
  • Topic planning so you’re never staring at a blank send

Good for: lists that have gone quiet, or never got started.

Email · one-time build

Sales Sequences

The automated emails that catch people right before they buy, or right after they almost did. Built once, they keep working in the background.

  • Abandoned cart follow-ups
  • Testimonial, customer win, and Q&A emails
  • Book-a-call and follow-up sequences for service businesses

Good for: shops and service businesses leaving sales in the checkout.

Social · monthly

X & LinkedIn Ghostwriting

Posts and threads that sound like you on a good day. We plan the month together, I write it, you approve it, and your feed stops going dark when work gets busy.

  • A monthly content calendar built around your business
  • Posts and threads drafted for your approval
  • Stories and lessons pulled from our interviews, never made up

Good for: owners and leaders who know they should post and never have the time.

Every project is quoted up front, in writing, before any work starts.

04 / How it works

A clear process, from first line to final send.

You’ll always know what’s happening and what comes next. Nothing goes out with your name on it until you say yes.

  1. Tell me what you need

Fill out the form below. Then we’ll find an easy way to talk about your business, your customers, and what you want the writing to do. That can be email, a video chat, or a phone call, whatever you’re most comfortable with.

  2. Agree on the work, in writing

We settle what I’ll write, when it’s due, and what it costs, and we both keep a copy. Pay in full up front, or half to start and half on delivery. Work begins once the first payment is in.

  3. The interview

I ask how you talk, who you serve, what you’ve tried, and what your customers keep asking. This is how the writing ends up sounding like you.

  4. I write

Every line gets worked until it can be read out loud without a stumble.

  5. You approve

You review the finished work. If you want changes, I make them and send it back until you’re happy.

  6. It goes out

You get paste-ready copy for your email platform or social accounts, and it goes live on your schedule.

05 / The standard
We stay with every piece until each line can be said out loud, whether it takes an afternoon or a month.

Plenty of shops throw a prompt together and send the result out half done. First Line Copy doesn’t. We roll each idea around, we pick nits, and we finish the work before it reaches you. You won’t be cleaning up after us.

AI is a useful tool for a few specific jobs, like a stack of extra headline options. How something sounds, and whether it’s right for your customer this week, is still a call a writer makes.

06 / Who writes it

Hi, I’m Rob Rebhan.

I’m a copywriter in Michigan. I spent twelve years inside General Motors’ agencies writing websites, emails, and launches for Buick, GMC, and OnStar, and helping lead creative teams of up to eight. Today I’m an in-house senior copywriter for a national brand.

First Line Copy is my own shop, and I started it because I like giving people their time back. I figured that out when my wife and I ran the Flour Pot, our bakery. Every hour you don’t spend writing is an hour for the work only you can do.

It works out for both of us. You get writing that sounds like you and time to spend somewhere else. I get to do what I love, which is write, and we both grow our businesses along the way.

07 / Start a project

Tell me what you’re working on.

A few details are plenty. I read every one of these myself, and I’ll get back to you the way you’d like to talk.

What do you need? Pick any.

08 / The newsletter

Notes from a working copywriter.

What’s working in email and social right now, what AI can and can’t do for your writing, and the small edits that make a big difference. Free, and short enough to finish.
